who we are

NihilUI is a World of Warcraft UI made by Dieman. nihil.gg is its website, where supporters sign in and download the NihilUI installer. this page covers nihil.gg and the installer.

what we keep

• your account: the name and picture from the login you use (Battle.net, Discord or Patreon), the id of each login you link, and an email address when the provider shares a verified one.
• your BattleTag, from Battle.net, because every installer is made for one BattleTag.
• your supporter status: whether your Patreon membership of NihilUI is active and until when, and your Patreon user id, so one membership counts on one account.
• the sign-in tokens each provider gives us, so we can check your Patreon membership without asking you to sign in again.
• your downloads: when you downloaded, the BattleTag the copy was made for, when that copy stops working and which profile version it carried.
• your sessions: when each one ends and your browser's name and version.
• a keyed hash of your IP address on sessions, downloads and staff actions. we never store the address itself; the hash only tells us when two requests came from the same address, so we can spot shared or misused accounts.
• a record of what staff did on your account (roles, bans, merges), and a snapshot of both accounts when two are merged.

what we don't do

• no ads, and no selling or sharing your data for marketing.
• no tracking cookies and no third-party trackers.
• no passwords: you always sign in through Battle.net, Discord or Patreon.

cookies

we only set the cookies the site needs to work, so there is no cookie banner:

• a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
• a cookie that remembers which login you used last, to show it first next time.
• a ten-minute cookie while you merge two accounts, cleared when you sign out.

who else sees it

• Hetzner hosts our server and database in Germany.
• Cloudflare sits in front of nihil.gg to protect it and keep it fast, so it handles every request to the site.
• Battle.net, Discord and Patreon, only when you sign in with them, and Patreon again when we check your membership.
• our own installer service, which receives your BattleTag and the date your copy stops working, to build your download.

how long we keep it

• your account and its logins, for as long as the account exists.
• sessions, until they end or you sign out. copies of the installer stop working after 35 days at most.
• removing your Patreon login ends your supporter record at once, and removing your Battle.net login clears your BattleTag.
• when you ask us to delete your account, we remove it with its logins and sessions. the download and staff records stay, no longer tied to an account, because they keep the rules fair for everyone.

your rights

you can ask for a copy of what we keep about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. we'll answer within 30 days. if you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

changes

when this page changes, the date at the top changes with it, and we announce bigger changes on Discord.
